Rehabilitation of Post Godhra Riots Victims in Gujarat

Rs.27.24 crore were released to mitigate the hardships being faced by the  riot victims, including : -

•  Ex-gratia to next of kin of the deceased in the Riots

An amount of Rs.11.30 crore was released to the Government of Gujarat for disbursement @ Rs.1.00 lakh each to the Next of Kin of the persons deceased.

• Ex-gratia for injured persons in the Riots

An amount of approximately Rs.2.19 crore was reimbursed to the Government of Gujarat on account of ex-gratia disbursement by them to the injured persons in the riots.

• Provision of House Hold Kits

Funds to the tune of Rs.11.3382 crore were made available to the Government of Gujarat for the household kits disbursed by them to the riot victims.

• Assistance to Indian Red Cross Society

An amount of Rs.2.00 crore was remitted in favour of the Indian Red Cross Society to meet the needs like school textbooks, uniform/clothes and nutrition for children and women at the relief camps set up by the Society in Ahmedabad.

• Assistance to Charutar Arogya Mandal

An amount of Rs.42 lakh was released to Charutar Arogya Mandal for their work related to medical and other rehabilitation activities in relief camps in the Khera and Anand districts.
