Relief / Rehabilitation measures in the Flood affected areas of Bihar (Kosi Flood-2008)

Details of relief measures and rehabilitation schemes sanctioned by the PM after the devastating Flood by Kosi river in Bihar are as follows:-

• Ex-gratia of Rs. 1.00 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased has been sanctioned
  

• Mobile Medical Units

Under this scheme an amount of Rs. 8.10 crore has been sanctioned for procurement of 45 Mobile Medical Units / Ambulances to provide medical relief to the victims. Rs. 6.40 crore has been released.      

• Flood Shelters

Rs. 84 crore has been sanctioned for construction of 200 flood shelters in 200 villages of Bihar. These flood shelters would also serve as community halls.
